Fellow Hunters:

We are sending you this newsletter to thank you for entering our annual Big Buck Classic Contest and to forward you the contest results. We have donated $500.00 to the Salvation Army of Owen Sound.  The club also donated $500.00 to the Leukemia Association.

Ray Wardrop, Bryan Boshold & Chris Mink scored 92 sets of antlers this year. Both Ray & Bryan are FROW (Foundation for the Recognition of Ontario Wildlife) certified to score deer, turkeys, bear and moose.  A huge thanks as always goes out to Ray, Bryan & Chris for their efforts and expertise in assisting our club.  A total of 12 bucks were scored/harvested with bow and a total of 14 bucks were scored/harvested by black powder rifle.

The grand prize draw winner was Kris Mason of Allenford, Ontario. Kris won a brand new Tikka T3 Synthetic 300 WSM calibre rifle from Lake Huron Rod & Gun.

Wayne Fox from Meaford, Ontario harvested the biggest buck with a green score of 145”. Wayne selected the Excalibur Vixen II Crossbow from Watson’s Tackle House.

Second place went to Brad Gunn of Owen Sound, Ontario. His buck green scored 143 6/8” and was harvested with a rifle. Brad chose the TC Impact Camo Black Powder rifle from G.A.D. Products.

Third place went to Terry Brown from Monkton, Ontario. His buck green scored 141” and was harvested with a bow. Terry won the CVA black powder gun from Beckett’s Shooting Supplies.

The bow prize went to Dennis Eagles of Fergus, Ontario with a green score of 136 2/8”.  Dennis won the Spypoint IR8 Trail Camera from Lake Huron Rod & Gun.

The Women’s prize was won by Rachael Hackman of Tuscon, Arizona with a green score of 137 6/8”.  Her buck was harvested with a black powder rifle.  Rachael won the Maximus Bone Splitter 150 Crossbow courtesy of Maximus Crossbows (Walker Downriggers Inc.).

The Blackpowder prize went to Kyle Schwindt of Owen Sound.  His buck green scored 126.  Kyle was awarded the Big Dog 3 Axis Hunting Blind from Watson’s Tackle House.

All entries below the top 3 and women’s prize went into a draw for the hidden score prize. The winner was Bob Harron of Tara. Bob’s buck green scored 108 3/8”. Bob won the Bushnell Banner scope from G.A.D. Products.

Congratulations to everyone who was lucky enough to enter antlers. We scored 3 more sets of antlers than we did last year but the quality and size of racks diminished.  All the names are listed below in numerical order as per antler score.
